just for my personal info...why f10? i always shoot at f4.5 now. is taht bad? i still don't totally know what i'm doing. :)

I think I had it set on the "P" mode where it chose the f-10 for me. When I shoot landscapes I like a larger depth of field, or in other words, more stuff in focus. Portraits are best shot with less in focus like you are doing with f-4.5. So, keep on doing what you are doing, but realize that when you change your setting you may want to change your depth of field. It's all a personal choice.
